Drive hardware not ready to operate
Beckhoff · TwinCAT 2 NC
Was bedeutet 4650 ?
The drive hardware is not in a ready state for operation. This can be caused by the drive being in a hardware error state, still undergoing its start-up phase (which can take several seconds after a reset), or missing the necessary controller enable signal. Until the drive is ready, no motion commands can be executed.
Häufige Ursachen
- Internal drive hardware fault (e.g., damaged power module, control board failure) preventing the drive from passing self-diagnostics.
- Insufficient or unstable control voltage (e.g., 24VDC) supplied to the drive's control terminals (e.g., X1-1, X1-2) preventing proper startup.
- Drive is still undergoing its internal power-up self-tests or initialization sequence, which can take several seconds to complete.
- External safety circuit (e.g., STO terminals X2-1, X2-2) is not closed or incorrectly wired, preventing the drive from entering a ready state.
- Incorrect or incompatible firmware loaded onto the drive, causing a critical initialization error.

- 1
Power cycle the drive and wait for at least 10-15 seconds to allow for full internal startup and self-diagnostics before attempting operation.
- 2
Measure the control supply voltage (e.g., 24VDC) at the drive's control terminals (e.g., X1-1, X1-2) to ensure it is stable and within the specified range (e.g., 21.6V to 26.4V).
- 3
Verify the status of all safety inputs (e.g., STO, enable) at their respective terminals (e.g., X2-1, X2-2) using a multimeter to confirm they are closed or active.
- 4
Disconnect all external I/O and communication cables from the drive and attempt to power up to isolate potential external interference or faulty peripheral devices.
- 5
Check the diagnostic LEDs on the drive's front panel for specific error codes or patterns indicating a hardware fault, and refer to the drive manual for interpretation.
- 6
If all external connections and power supplies are verified, consider replacing the drive as an internal hardware fault is highly probable.
