Fuse Blowing (ECM)

Fanuc · Macro B CNC Programming

Was bedeutet h ?

A fuse within the Energy Charge Module (ECM) Capacitor Module has blown. This indicates an overcurrent condition within the Capacitor Module, likely due to a short circuit, an internal fault in the capacitors, or improper operation.

Häufige Ursachen

  • Overcurrent condition detected, causing internal fuse to blow in the ECM.
  • Short circuit in motor windings or associated cabling.
  • Excessive mechanical load exceeding motor capabilities.
  • Faulty power supply to the ECM or motor driver.

  1. 1

Immediately stop the machine using the emergency stop button and open the external Main Circuit Contactor (MCC) of the Power supply.

  2. 2

Locate the LED (D2) on the front of the Capacitor Module (A06B-6158-H020); if the fuse is blown, this LED will turn off. Keep 24V control voltage ON to confirm (Note 1, page 590).

  3. 3

Inspect the Capacitor Module (A06B-6158-H020) for any visible signs of internal short circuits, component damage, or abnormal heating.

  4. 4

Replace the blown fuse with one having an appropriate rating, as per the manual's specifications for fuses (Section 3.1.3.6, page 88). Note that the general advice on page 88 suggests replacing the entire module if a fuse blows in the control circuit.

  5. 5

If the fuse blows again shortly after replacement, the Capacitor Module (A06B-6158-H020) is likely faulty and requires replacement.
