IGBT Short-Circuit (Hard Detection)
Schneider Electric · Altivar Machine ATV320 Variable Speed Drive
Was bedeutet SCF4 ?
A hard detection of an IGBT short-circuit. This indicates a severe internal failure of the Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) within the drive's power stage. This is a critical hardware fault that can cause catastrophic damage to the drive and is usually not field-repairable.
Häufige Ursachen
- Internal failure of an Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) within the drive's inverter bridge.
- Voltage spikes on the DC bus exceeding the IGBT's breakdown voltage, possibly due to improper braking resistor sizing.
- Overcurrent condition causing thermal stress and eventual failure of the IGBT junction.
- External short circuit at motor terminals (U, V, W) that the drive's protection circuit failed to clear quickly enough.
Reparaturschritte & Checkliste
Klicken Sie auf Schritte, um Ihren Fortschritt zu verfolgen.
- 1
1. Disconnect incoming AC power from the drive's input terminals (L1, L2, L3) and wait for DC bus discharge (0VDC).
- 2
2. Disconnect motor cables from the drive's output terminals (U, V, W).
- 3
3. Use a diode test function on a multimeter to check the rectifier (input L1/L2/L3 to DC bus) and inverter sections (DC bus to output U/V/W).
- 4
4. Look for visible signs of damage (e.g., burn marks, bulging components) on the drive's power board.
- 5
5. If diode test indicates shorted IGBTs, consider the drive as requiring replacement or professional repair.
