The measured value on an I/O bus module channel exceeds the configured tolerance window compared to an expected or redundant value. This indicates a potential sensor malfunction, wiring issue, or an incorrectly set tolerance. It can lead to false alarms or inaccurate process control.

Common Causes

  • Drifting or faulty sensor connected to the affected I/O channel (e.g., RTD out of calibration, pressure transducer unstable).
  • High electrical noise or EMI on the signal cable causing spurious readings (e.g., unshielded cable routed near VFD power lines).
  • Broken wire or loose connection at the I/O module terminal (e.g., Terminal X3.7) or sensor side, causing intermittent open circuit.
  • Incorrect scaling or linearization parameters configured for the analog input channel (e.g., Parameter P3-05 Min Scaled Value, P3-06 Max Scaled Value).
