Measurement underflow at the I/O module

ABB · PB610 Panel Builder 600 Programming Software

What does 263 mean?

The input measurement on a safety I/O channel has fallen below its minimum detectable range. This can be due to an under-range signal from the sensor, incorrect wiring, or an issue with the sensor's power supply. For AI581-S input channels, the internal detection mechanism might not differentiate between over- and undercurrent effectively, as overcurrent can be followed by undercurrent effects in the electronics. This is a severity 3 error.

Common Causes

  • Input signal falls below the minimum measurable range of the I/O module.
  • Underload condition or open circuit on the analog input.
  • Incorrect scaling of input signal.
  • Wiring error causing insufficient voltage.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the channel wiring for correct connections and ensure the sensor output range matches the I/O module input specifications.

  2. 2

Verify the power supply to the sensor connected to the channel, ensuring it is within the specified operating voltage.
