A cross-talk error has been detected on an I/O bus module. This means unwanted signal coupling is occurring between adjacent channels, leading to incorrect readings or control actions, and potentially compromising system integrity. This interference affects signal reliability.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Inspect all signal cables connected to the I/O module for proper shielding connection at both ends (e.g., via ground terminals).
2. Physically separate low-voltage signal cables from high-voltage or high-current power cables by a minimum distance (e.g., 300mm).
3. Verify correct grounding scheme for the I/O system, ensuring a single-point ground connection where applicable.
4. Terminate unused analog inputs (e.g., with a 500 Ohm resistor for current inputs) to prevent noise pickup.
5. Measure the actual analog input values (e.g., 4-20mA current) directly at the sensor and at the I/O module terminals using a calibrated meter.
6. Consider installing ferrite beads on problematic signal cables or adding line filters to power supplies causing noise.
