Cold Junction Data Fault (5069-IY4, 5069-IY4K)

What does CJChxx.Fault mean?

This boolean tag indicates that the cold junction data for a specific channel (xx) is inaccurate and cannot be trusted for application use. A value of 1 signifies bad data, causing a fault. The tag automatically resets to 0 once the underlying condition is resolved.

Common Causes

  • Cold junction channel (CJChxx) is disabled
  • Open Wire condition at the cold junction
  • Underrange/Overrange condition for the cold junction temperature
  • Short Circuit condition at the cold junction sensor or wiring
