Allen-Bradley · Logix and SLC PLC
This fault implies that the system is attempting to communicate with a device using an incorrect network station number. The target device cannot be reached because its identifier does not match what the system is sending, preventing proper addressing and communication.
Click steps to track your progress.
Verify the configured network station number or IP address within the PLC's communication instruction or module settings (e.g., MSG instruction, I/O configuration) matches the target device's expected identifier.
Verify the actual network station number, Node ID, or IP address physically set (DIP switches, rotary switches) or software-configured on the target device matches the value the PLC is sending.
Inspect the network cabling (e.g., Ethernet, DH+, RIO, ControlNet) between the PLC communication module and the target device for secure connections, damage, and proper termination.
Check the network status indicators (LEDs) on both the PLC communication module and the target device for any error conditions or communication faults.
