An external trip input (Auxiliary) has been activated, signaling an issue from an external device or safety circuit. This causes the drive to trip, protecting itself and connected machinery. This input is configurable via digital input parameters.
Click steps to track your progress.
Verify the status of external safety devices connected to the auxiliary input terminal (e.g., X12/DI3) by visually inspecting device status indicators or using a multimeter to check contact closure.
Inspect all wiring continuity and terminal connections for the auxiliary input circuit from the external device to the drive's terminal block (e.g., X12) using a multimeter.
Monitor the digital input status via the drive's display (e.g., P7-01 [DI Status]) to confirm the input's state changes accurately with the external safety device actuation.
Check parameter P2-10 (Digital Input Function) to ensure it is configured correctly (e.g., 'Auxiliary Trip NC' or 'Auxiliary Trip NO') matching the contact type of the external device.
If safe to do so, temporarily bypass the external auxiliary input at the drive terminal (e.g., X12/DI3) by shorting it to the common terminal to determine if the fault is external to the drive.
