Function Block Error (Group)
Beckhoff · TwinSAFE Logic FB
What does GROUP Value 1 mean?
At least one TwinSAFE function block (FB) within the EL/EJ69x0 group has entered an ERROR state. This indicates a localized issue within a specific safety function, which then propagates to the group level, causing the entire group to halt safe operation. Investigation of individual FB diagnostics is required.
Common Causes
- A specific TwinSAFE function block (e.g., FB_EmergencyStop, FB_DoorMonitoring) within the group has entered an ERROR state.
- Incorrect parameterization of one or more individual function blocks (e.g., P6-05 for delay time) leading to an internal error condition.
- Faulty safety input device (e.g., EL1957 module with shorted input) connected to a specific function block, preventing it from clearing its error.
- Logic programming error within a specific function block preventing it from reaching a safe operating state.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Open the TwinCAT System Manager and navigate to the safety project to identify which specific TwinSAFE function block is in error.
- 2
2. Examine the detailed diagnostic flags and error codes for the identified problematic function block.
- 3
3. Verify the operational status and input signals of the safety devices connected to the faulty function block (e.g., OSSD signals at EL1957 terminals).
- 4
4. Check the parameter settings (e.g., P6-05) of the individual function block against the application requirements.
- 5
5. Attempt to acknowledge and reset the individual function block error via the TwinCAT System Manager.
