Maximum Temperature Exceeded

Beckhoff · EL6900 Operating Instructions

What does 0005 hex mean?

This diagnostic code (found within FA00:03 Temperature error) indicates that the internal temperature of the device has exceeded its maximum permissible operating limit. This condition can affect the primary and secondary microcontrollers (μC1, μC2) and may lead to component degradation or terminal shutdown.

Common Causes

  • Ambient temperature or internal component temperature has exceeded the predefined safe operating limit.
  • Overload condition causing excessive heat generation.
  • Cooling system malfunction (e.g., fan failure, blocked ventilation) leading to high temperatures.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.
