Automatic Motor Tuning Timeout

What does 55 mean?

This fault indicates that the Automatic Motor Tuning (AMT) calculations are taking too long to complete, resulting in a timeout. Common causes include excessive electrical noise in the motor cables, which can interfere with measurements, or conditions that prevent the tuning algorithm from converging quickly. An incomplete AMT means the motor will not be optimally characterized for the drive.

• Excessive electrical noise or interference on the motor cables, corrupting the feedback signals required for accurate parameter measurements.
• High motor inductance or a long motor cable run causing the drive to take an extended period to establish stable current measurements.
• Insufficient current injection during the tuning process, leading to slow or unstable parameter identification.
• Loose or high-resistance connections in the motor circuit, causing delays or inaccuracies in the drive's measurements.
• Incorrect internal software timing or parameter limits causing the AMT algorithm to prematurely terminate.

   1. Ensure motor cable shielding is properly terminated at the drive end (360-degree contact to the cabinet ground plate).

   2. Verify that motor cables are physically separated from control and feedback wiring by at least 300mm (12 inches) to reduce EMI.
