What does 1 mean?

The control card voltage on terminal 50 is less than 10 V, indicating an overload on the 10 V supply. This can be caused by a short circuit in a connected potentiometer or incorrect wiring of the potentiometer.

Common Causes

  • Short circuit in a connected potentiometer (e.g., between terminal 50 and terminal 53).
  • External device connected to the 10V supply (terminal 50) is drawing excessive current, causing an overload.
  • Damaged or degraded potentiometer connected to terminal 50, creating a resistive short or low impedance path.
  • Multiple external devices drawing current from the 10V supply (terminal 50) exceeding the drive's specified current limit.
  • Internal control card component failure (e.g., voltage regulator U101) responsible for the 10V output.

    Disconnect all external wiring from terminal 50 (10V supply) and terminal 53 (0V supply) on the control card.

    Measure the voltage between terminal 50 and terminal 53 on the control card; it should read approximately 10VDC.

    If the voltage is correct, reconnect external devices one by one, monitoring the voltage between terminal 50 and 53 after each connection.

    If a potentiometer is connected, measure its resistance across the end terminals (e.g., 50-53) and its wiper (e.g., 50-54) for shorts.

  5. 5

    Check the total current draw from the 10V supply (terminal 50) when all external devices are connected, ensuring it's below the drive's specified limit (e.g., 100mA).
