Danfoss · VLT 2800 Variable Speed Drive
This fault indicates a communication error occurring between the drive's control card and the BMC2 component. Such an issue can prevent proper command execution or feedback, potentially leading to erratic drive behavior or complete shutdown. It points to a hardware or connection problem within the control circuitry.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Power down the drive, then verify the physical connection and seating of the ribbon cable between the control card and BMC2.
2. Using an oscilloscope, measure the communication bus signals to identify noise spikes or data integrity issues (refer to bus specification).
3. Update the firmware of the BMC2 module to the latest compatible version using the manufacturer's specified tool.
4. Temporarily replace the BMC2 module with a known good unit to determine if the fault follows the module.
5. If the fault persists after verifying BMC2 and cable, replace the main control card assembly.
