Danfoss · VLT 2800 Variable Speed Drive
An Input/Output (I/O) fault has occurred, affecting digital inputs/outputs, relay outputs, or analog inputs/outputs. This means the drive cannot correctly receive external signals or send control commands, disrupting automation processes. This could be due to external wiring, sensor issues, or internal I/O circuitry failure.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Disconnect all external I/O wiring from the drive and check individual input/output terminals for short circuits using a multimeter.
2. For digital inputs, measure the voltage at the respective terminal (e.g., DI1) to common, verifying correct voltage (24VDC for active).
3. For analog inputs, measure the voltage or current at the respective terminal (e.g., AI1) and compare to the sensor's expected output.
4. Activate a relay output (e.g., RLY1) via a parameter (e.g., P2-21 = 1) and measure continuity across its contacts (NO/NC).
5. Reset I/O parameters to factory defaults (e.g., P2-00 = 0) and reconfigure them based on the application wiring diagram.
6. Replace the control card if multiple I/O points exhibit faults after thorough troubleshooting.
