APC ALARM: PULSE ERROR

Fanuc · Alpha i Series Servo Amplifier

What does SV0305 mean?

A pulse error occurred with the absolute-position detector, preventing the system from obtaining the correct machine position. This issue is typically caused by a defect in the absolute-position detector or its connecting cable.

Common Causes

  • APC encoder pulse generation is inconsistent or faulty.
  • Signal degradation of the encoder's pulse output.
  • Incorrect pulse counting by the CNC.
  • Mechanical issues affecting the encoder's disc rotation.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure APC encoder pulse output (e.g., A, B signals) for correct waveform and frequency.

  2. 2

Inspect encoder mounting for any mechanical play or vibration.

  3. 3

Verify pulse counting parameters in the CNC.

  4. 4

Test APC encoder with a known good reference if possible.
