The Energy Charge Module's (ECM) Capacitor Modules are discharged due to a malfunction of the discharge circuit, rather than a commanded discharge. This indicates an uncontrolled or premature release of stored energy, suggesting a more severe failure within the discharge control mechanism or the Resistor Module itself.
Click steps to track your progress.
Immediately stop the machine using the emergency stop button and open the external Main Circuit Contactor (MCC) of the Power supply.
Inspect the Resistor Module (A06B-6158-H030) and its internal thermostat for proper operation and signs of damage or short circuit.
Check the control signals from the ECM Control Module (A06B-6158-H010) to the discharge circuit for any erroneous commands causing unintended discharge.
Verify the integrity of the discharge circuit components for any short circuits or component failures that could cause premature discharge.
Measure the resistance of the Resistor Module (expected 30 ohm, page 578) to ensure it is within specification.
