Battery Undervoltage

Fronius · Perfect Charging

What does 22 mean?

The connected battery's voltage is below the minimum operational threshold required for safe or effective charging. This typically occurs when a battery is deeply discharged, which can require a specialized charging process to prevent further damage.

Common Causes

  • The battery has been discharged to a very low voltage level, often beyond its recommended minimum discharge voltage.
  • The battery's overall capacity has significantly degraded, leading to a rapid voltage drop under load or self-discharge.
  • An incorrect battery type (with a different nominal voltage) is connected, or the charger's settings do not match the battery's actual voltage requirements.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the voltage of the connected battery directly at its terminals using a voltmeter.

  2. 2

Verify the battery's state of charge and overall health; if deeply discharged, refer to the battery manufacturer's guidelines for safe recovery charging or reconditioning.

  3. 3

Confirm that the battery's nominal voltage matches the battery type and nominal voltage configured in the charger's settings.
