What does 26 mean?

The battery management system (BMS) or charger has identified a defect within one or more cells of the connected battery. This could indicate a severe internal issue such as a shorted cell, an open circuit cell, or significantly degraded capacity in a specific cell.

Common Causes

  • An internal short circuit within a battery cell, leading to rapid self-discharge or localized heating.
  • An open circuit within a cell or a faulty connection between cells.
  • Significant imbalance in voltage or capacity degradation of a specific cell or cell group within the battery pack.
