Target Voltage in I2 Phase Not Reached

Fronius · Perfect Charging

What does 36 mean?

During the I2 (secondary constant current) charging phase, the battery failed to reach the configured target voltage within the specified conditions. This can indicate an issue with the battery's ability to accept charge or a limitation with the charger's output capabilities.

Common Causes

  • The battery is unable to reach the target voltage due to high internal resistance, degradation, or an internal cell imbalance.
  • The charger's output current or voltage is insufficient to bring the battery to the target voltage within the I2 phase parameters.
  • An incorrect target voltage setting for the I2 phase, set too high or inappropriate for the battery type.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the battery's health and its ability to accept charge, potentially using a battery analyzer.

  2. 2

Check the charger's I2 phase output current and voltage to ensure it's functioning correctly and delivering the expected power.

  3. 3

Confirm that the target voltage setting for the I2 phase is accurately configured for the connected battery's specifications.
