Fan Blocked/Defective

Fronius · Perfect Charging

What does 504 mean?

The cooling fan responsible for maintaining temperatures within the primary circuit (and potentially other areas) is either blocked or defective. This leads to insufficient cooling, which can cause internal components to overheat and trigger overtemperature faults.

Common Causes

  • Physical obstruction (e.g., dust, debris) blocking the fan blades or air intake/exhaust vents.
  • Failure of the fan motor or worn bearings, preventing the fan from spinning.
  • A disconnected or damaged fan power cable, preventing it from receiving power.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the fan for any physical obstructions and carefully remove them.

  2. 2

Verify the fan's power supply voltage and its electrical connection at the fan terminal block.

  3. 3

Test the fan for proper operation (e.g., visually confirm it spins freely, feel for airflow). Replace the fan if it is defective or not rotating.
