WSD (Wired Shutdown) Input

Fronius · Symo Advanced

What does 703 mean?

This status code indicates that the Wired Shutdown (WSD) input on the Fronius Primo GEN24 208-240 inverter is active, triggering a shutdown command. This can be caused by the WSD button being pressed, a wiring issue in the WSD circuit (e.g., a short circuit), or an external shutdown device being activated.

Common Causes

  • The WSD button (if installed) has been pressed or is stuck in the active position.
  • A wiring issue (e.g., short circuit) in the WSD input cabling, inadvertently activating the shutdown.
  • An external shutdown device connected to the WSD input has been activated.
  • An internal fault with the WSD input circuit of the inverter.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the status of the WSD button or any external shutdown device connected to the WSD input; ensure it is in the inactive state.

  2. 2

Inspect the WSD wiring for any signs of short circuits, damage, or improper connections at the inverter terminals.

  3. 3

Verify that the WSD input is deactivated if normal system operation is desired.

  4. 4

De-energize the inverter (switch off AC and DC disconnects), wait for 5 minutes, then re-energize to reset. If the message persists, the inverter may require service.
