Heatsink Overtemperature Warning

Indramat · ECODRIVE Controller

What does E250 mean?

The temperature of the heatsink in the ECODRIVE DKC01.1/DKC11.1 drive controller has reached the maximum allowable warning temperature. The drive continues to follow the command value for 30 seconds, allowing for a controlled shutdown before an F218 shutdown occurs.

Common Causes

  • Deficiency of the drive's internal blower.
  • Deficiency of the control cabinet’s climate control.
  • Incorrect control cabinet dimensioning regarding the head ventilation.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Reduce the ambient temperature, for example, by improving control cabinet cooling.

  2. 2

Remove any obstruction or dirt from the ECODRIVE DKC01.1/DKC11.1 drive's heatsink.

  3. 3

Verify the control cabinet dimensions and ventilation for proper airflow, ensuring the drive is installed vertically.

  4. 4

If the internal blower is failing, prepare for drive controller replacement as a shutdown (F218) will occur soon.
