F248

Low Battery Voltage

Indramat · ECODRIVE Controller

What does F248 mean?

The internal battery, typically used for backing up encoder position data (e.g., absolute encoder) or internal parameters, has fallen below its minimum voltage threshold. This can lead to loss of position reference or stored data if not addressed.

Common Causes

  • End-of-life or depleted battery in the ECODRIVE DKC01.1/DKC11.1 drive or associated absolute encoder module.
  • Interruption of the charging circuit for a rechargeable battery.
  • High ambient temperature accelerating battery discharge.
  • Extended power-off periods without sufficient battery charge.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Locate the battery on the ECODRIVE DKC01.1/DKC11.1 controller or associated absolute encoder and measure its voltage.

  2. 2

Replace the battery with the manufacturer-specified type and model.

  3. 3

Verify the battery charging circuit (if applicable) is functioning correctly.

  4. 4

After battery replacement, re-home the axis or restore absolute position data if lost, following the manual's procedure.

  5. 5

Check drive parameters related to battery monitoring and ensure they are correctly set.
