Phase failure
Indramat · IndraDrive MPx02
What does E2818 mean?
The IndraDrive MPx02 has detected the loss of one or more phases of the incoming three-phase AC mains supply. This condition prevents proper operation, leading to unbalanced currents and insufficient power, and can damage the drive and motor if not addressed promptly.
Common Causes
- Blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker in one phase of the incoming supply line.
- Open circuit or loose connection in one of the mains power lines to the drive.
- Fault in the upstream power transformer or distribution equipment.
- Power utility issue leading to a single or multi-phase loss.
- Incorrect wiring of the mains power supply.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Immediately power down the drive and visually inspect all fuses and circuit breakers in the incoming power supply circuit for the IndraDrive MPx02. Replace or reset as necessary.
- 2
Measure the voltage between all three phases (L1-L2, L2-L3, L3-L1) at the input terminals of the drive to confirm the presence of all phases and balanced voltages.
- 3
Check all power cable connections from the main supply to the drive, ensuring they are tight, correctly terminated, and free from corrosion.
- 4
Investigate the upstream power distribution system, including contactors and transformers, for any component failures.
- 5
If the problem persists and upstream power is confirmed healthy, the drive's input rectifier or phase sensing circuit may be faulty.
