Safety related standstill while drive enabled
Indramat · IndraDrive MPx02
What does E8027 mean?
The IndraDrive MPx02's integrated safety technology has detected that the drive is enabled, but the motor is at a safety-related standstill. This condition is a warning indicating that the safety standstill function is active while the drive's power section is still enabled, which may not be the intended safe state or might indicate an issue with the safety circuit's command.
Common Causes
- Safety standstill function (e.g., SOS - Safe Operating Stop) is active, but the drive enable signal is still present.
- Conflicting commands from the safety controller and the standard drive controller regarding axis status.
- Incorrect parameterization of the safety functions, leading to an ambiguous state.
- External safety input (e.g., E-stop, safety gate) is active, commanding standstill but not disabling power, which might be an error in logic.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the status of all safety inputs to the IndraDrive MPx02 and the safety controller to confirm that safety functions (e.g., SOS) are correctly commanded.
- 2
Ensure that the drive enable signal from the master controller is being managed consistently with the active safety functions; if a safety standstill is required, the drive enable should typically be removed.
- 3
Review the configuration of the safety parameters in the IndraDrive MPx02, ensuring that the interaction between safety functions and drive enable is as intended.
- 4
Check the status of external safety devices (e.g., light curtains, safety gates, E-stop buttons) to ensure they are not inadvertently triggering a safety standstill while the drive is enabled.
