F4002

Double MDT failure shutdown

Indramat · Indradrive

What does F4002 mean?

The drive detected a simultaneous failure of two Master Data Telegrams (MDT). This is a critical communication error indicating a severe disruption in the primary communication link where the master controller fails to receive expected data from the IndraDrive, leading to a shutdown.

Common Causes

  • Complete loss of communication signal on the bus.
  • Faulty communication cable or connectors.
  • Problem with the IndraDrive's communication interface failing to send data.
  • Severe electromagnetic interference disrupting bus communication.
  • Incorrect bus configuration (e.g., wrong baud rate, address).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Inspect the communication cable (e.g., fiber optic, copper) connecting the IndraDrive to the master controller for damage or loose connections.

  2. 2

Verify the status of the master controller's communication interface and bus activity.

  3. 3

Check for external sources of electromagnetic interference that might affect the communication bus.

  4. 4

Verify the communication parameters (e.g., baud rate, address) are correctly configured in both the IndraDrive and the master controller.

  5. 5

If the fault persists, the IndraDrive's communication interface may be defective.
