BCD Input

Indramat · ServoDyn D Servo Drive

What does 16 mean?

This error occurs if a BCD (Binary Coded Decimal) command is encountered in the CLM01.3-M user program, but the auxiliary inputs designated for BCD operation are not configured or wired to interpret data in BCD format.

Common Causes

  • A BCD program command (e.g., BCA, BCB, BCD) is used without the corresponding auxiliary inputs being set for BCD interpretation.
  • Auxiliary input configuration parameters are incorrectly set, expecting standard digital inputs instead of BCD.
  • Wiring errors on auxiliary inputs 1 through 8 prevent proper BCD signal reception.
  • Faulty BCD input device or sensor.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify that auxiliary inputs 1 through 8 are correctly configured and wired for BCD format if BCD program commands are used.

  2. 2

Review the relevant CLM01.3-M parameters that define the type and format of auxiliary inputs to ensure they match BCD requirements.

  3. 3

Inspect the wiring of auxiliary inputs 1 through 8 for any misconnections, loose terminals, or shorts.

  4. 4

If a BCD input device is used, check its functionality and output signals to ensure it is providing valid BCD data.

  5. 5

Modify the user program to either remove BCD commands if inputs cannot be configured for BCD, or correct the input configuration.
