RS Break-Error

Indramat · ServoDyn D Servo Drive

What does 27 mean?

This error occurs if the optional IDS board is enabled via Parameter 80 (Serial Interface) but the CLM01.3-M fails to detect a physical connection to the IDS board. This indicates a communication or hardware issue with the IDS board.

Common Causes

  • The IDS board is not physically connected or is improperly seated in its slot.
  • The IKS 742 cable connecting the IDS board to CLM01.3-M connector X6 is defective or too long (max 10 meters).
  • Parameter 80 (Serial Interface) is incorrectly configured to enable the IDS board when it is not present or not required.
  • Faulty IDS board or CLM01.3-M serial communication port.
  • Loose or damaged connections at CLM01.3-M connector X6.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the physical connection of the IDS board to CLM01.3-M connector X6, ensuring the IKS 742 cable is securely attached and undamaged.

  2. 2

Check the length and integrity of the IKS 742 cable; replace it if it is defective or exceeds the maximum recommended length of 10 meters.

  3. 3

Review Parameter 80 (Serial Interface) and disable the IDS board if it is not installed or intended for use.

  4. 4

Ensure the IDS board is properly seated in its slot within the CLM01.3-M chassis.

  5. 5

If the issue persists, contact Indramat Service Department as it may indicate a fault with the IDS board or the CLM01.3-M serial communication port.
