Overvoltage PMx during charging
KPS Intermediate Circuit Overvoltage During Charging
Kuka · KR C2 Robot Controller
What does Overvoltage PMx during charging mean?
An overvoltage condition has been detected in the intermediate circuit of the KPS module (PMx) during its charging phase. This is typically caused by a mains voltage that is too high.
Common Causes
- Intermediate circuit voltage exceeds the safe limit during the charging process.
- Power supply surge during system startup.
- Faulty pre-charge resistor or circuit.
- Incorrect charging sequence or timing.
- External voltage transients.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Measure the incoming mains voltage at the KPS input terminals. If it exceeds specifications, identify the source of the high voltage.
- 2
If the mains voltage is consistently too high, consider installing a transformer to adjust the input voltage to the KPS.
