MissingRootGas

No root gas!

Kuka · LaserTech 3.1

What does MissingRootGas mean?

The required root gas supply is either off, depleted, or not reaching the laser system at the necessary flow/pressure. This will negatively impact weld quality, especially for root passes, and may cause program interruption.

Common Causes

  • The primary gas supply (root gas) is not detected or is at zero pressure.
  • Gas cylinder is empty or the valve is closed.
  • Failure in the root gas control valve.
  • Sensor malfunction for root gas pressure monitoring.
  • Incorrect gas connection or plumbing error.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the root gas supply tank level and ensure the root gas valve is open.

  2. 2

Check the gas pressure at the laser system's input specifically for root gas.

  3. 3

Acknowledge the message on the robot controller HMI.

  4. 4

    Resume or restart the program.
