0x63A1

CU: load error ID tag

Lenze · i550 Protec Drive

What does 0x63A1 mean?

This fault indicates that the calibration data of the control unit (CU) is either incompatible or faulty. This prevents proper operation and immediately disables the inverter, causing the motor to coast. The error can only be reset by mains switching.

Common Causes

  • Incompatible firmware version loaded onto the control unit (CU), causing a conflict with the existing calibration data (ID tag).
  • Corruption of the control unit's internal flash memory where essential calibration data is stored.
  • Physical damage or electronic failure of the control unit hardware.
  • Installation of a control unit from a different inverter type or series, leading to an ID tag mismatch.
  • Power disturbance or transient event during startup or operation that corrupted the CU's internal data.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Record all critical parameter settings (e.g., P0-11, P0-12, P1-10) by hand or via backup software, if possible.

  2. 2

Perform a firmware re-flash of the control unit (CU) with the correct and compatible firmware version for the specific inverter model.

  3. 3

Attempt a factory reset of the inverter (e.g., set P0-01 to 1) to clear corrupted data, then re-enter essential parameters.

  4. 4

Visually inspect the control unit for any signs of physical damage, corrosion, or improperly seated connectors.

  5. 5

If the fault persists, replace the control unit (CU) with a new, compatible spare part from the manufacturer.
