30352

EPM firmware version incompatible

Lenze · i550 Protec Drive

What does 30352 mean?

The parameter settings stored on the memory module (EPM) are not compatible with the current firmware version of the inverter. This incompatibility prevents the drive from using the stored settings directly.

Common Causes

  • The inverter's firmware has been updated to a newer version, but the parameters stored on the EPM are from an older, incompatible firmware.
  • An EPM from a drive with a different (older or newer) firmware version or major revision was inserted into the current inverter.
  • Parameter structure changes or new features introduced in the inverter's updated firmware render the older EPM data incompatible without conversion.
  • The EPM contains a parameter set specifically compiled for a different firmware family or architecture not supported by the current drive.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Identify the current firmware version of the inverter (e.g., check parameter P0.01) and the firmware version for which the EPM data was originally created.

  2. 2

    2. If a firmware migration utility is available, use the drive's software tool to update or convert the EPM parameters to be compatible with the current inverter firmware.

  3. 3

    3. Load a known good parameter set that is compatible with the current inverter's firmware directly into the drive's RAM, then save it to the EPM (e.g., P99.01=1).

  4. 4

    4. Obtain the correct parameter file for the current inverter firmware version from the manufacturer or OEM, then download it to the EPM using a programming tool.

  5. 5

    5. Replace the EPM with a new module that is either blank or pre-loaded with a parameter set explicitly designed for the inverter's current firmware version.
