E.BE

Brake transistor alarm detection

Mitsubishi Electric · A500 Inverter

What does E.BE mean?

This function stops the inverter output if a fault occurs in the brake circuit, typically due to damaged brake transistors. When this alarm appears, the inverter power must be switched off immediately to prevent further damage to the unit.

Common Causes

  • The internal brake transistor within the inverter has malfunctioned.
  • Over-voltage on the DC bus during deceleration, causing brake resistor activation.
  • Short circuit across the brake resistor or its terminals.
  • Internal failure of the inverter's power stage.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Reduce the load inertia (J) connected to the motor.

  2. 2

Evaluate the frequency of braking operations; ensure it is within the inverter's specified limits.

  3. 3

Replace the inverter unit if brake circuit damage is confirmed.
