OC During Acc

Overcurrent shut-off during acceleration

Mitsubishi Electric · FR-E500 Inverter

What does OC During Acc mean?

The inverter output is shut off because the output current reached or exceeded approximately 200% of the rated current during the acceleration phase. This indicates that the motor load is too high for the acceleration rate, or there is an issue with the motor or wiring.

Common Causes

  • Motor accelerating too rapidly for the connected load inertia or motor capability.
  • Output short-circuit or ground fault occurring during acceleration.
  • Motor or driven equipment experiencing mechanical binding or excessive friction.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Increase the acceleration time setting (e.g., Pr. 7 or Pr. 44) to allow for a gentler ramp-up.

  2. 2

Measure the motor load current during acceleration and compare it to the motor nameplate rated current.

  3. 3

Inspect motor cable and motor terminals for signs of short-circuit or ground fault.
