INPUT-LKG-C3

Input Leakage Current (Line Capacitance)

Mitsubishi Electric · MELSEC iQ-R I/O Module

What does INPUT-LKG-C3 mean?

A leakage current flows into the input module due to the inherent capacitance of long wiring cables, preventing the input signal from turning off. This is particularly common with twisted pair cables, which can have a line capacity of approximately 100pF/m, contributing to unwanted current flow.

Common Causes

  • High line capacitance of excessively long wiring cables.
  • The accumulated charge in the cable capacitance creates a leakage current that maintains the input above the OFF voltage threshold.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Connect an appropriate resistor in parallel across the input terminals to sink the leakage current and ensure the voltage drops below the OFF threshold (same as INPUT-LKG-C1).
