CPU Down Error - Power Supply / Hardware Failure

Mitsubishi Electric · MELSEC System Q/L Series

What does 1009 mean?

An error is detected due to an out-of-specification voltage waveform applied to the power supply module, or a failure in critical hardware components. This includes the power supply module, CPU module, main base unit, extension base unit, or extension cable. In redundant systems, failure of both redundant power supply modules or the redundant base unit can also trigger this error.

Common Causes

  • Voltage waveform outside the specification applied to the power supply module.
  • Failure detected on the power supply module or CPU module.
  • Failure detected on the main base unit, extension base unit, or extension cable.
  • Redundant power supply module failure in both systems (when using redundant base unit).
  • Redundant base unit failure (when using redundant base unit).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Correct the voltage waveform applied to the power supply module.

  2. 2

Reset the CPU module and attempt to RUN it again.

  3. 3

If the same error is detected again, diagnose for and replace the defective component among the power supply module, CPU module, main base unit, extension base unit, or extension cable.
