Mitsubishi Electric · FR-A800 Troubleshooting Course
This fault indicates that one or more output phases from the FR-A800 inverter to the motor are either open-circuited or have a significant current imbalance. This can lead to motor overheating, reduced torque, and damage to the motor or inverter if operation continues.
Click steps to track your progress.
Immediately power down the FR-A800 inverter and visually inspect all connections from the inverter's output terminals (U, V, W) to the motor terminals. Tighten any loose connections.
Measure the resistance between each output phase (U-V, V-W, U-W) at the inverter output terminals with the motor disconnected. Expected values should be similar and indicate the motor winding resistance.
Check the continuity and insulation of the motor cable for breaks or damage.
Inspect any motor contactors, filters, or reactors in the output circuit for proper operation and connection.
If all external wiring and the motor check out, the fault may lie within the inverter's output stage, requiring professional service.
