I/O Setting Error

Omron · CJ-series CJ2 CPU Unit

What does 0x80E0 mean?

The connected I/O Units do not match the registered I/O tables, or the number of connected Units differs from the number registered. This is a fatal error, indicated by flag A401.10. Auxiliary Area A405.08 specifically turns ON if an Interrupt Input Unit is in the wrong position or registered incorrectly.

Common Causes

  • Physically connected I/O Units do not match entries in the registered I/O tables.
  • Number of connected I/O Units does not match the count in the registered I/O tables.
  • An Interrupt Input Unit is mounted in a slot other than the specified CPU Rack slots (0 to 3 for CJ2H-CPU6◻-EIP; 0 to 4 for CJ2H-CPU6◻ or CJ2M-CPU3◻).
  • Registered I/O tables are incorrect or contain mistakes (e.g., tables for one CPU model downloaded to another).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Turn OFF the power supply and connect the correct I/O Units if the number of units is incorrect.

  2. 2

Perform the I/O verification operation by selecting 'Options - Compare with Project' from the CX-Programmer I/O Table Menu.

  3. 3

Generate new I/O tables and read them using CX-Programmer to check for Units that are not being recognized, which may indicate a Unit failure.

  4. 4

If the number of Units is correct but a discrepancy persists, confirm the Unit in question, turn OFF the power supply, and correct the Unit connections.

  5. 5

Correct mistakes in the I/O tables by generating new ones or editing existing tables using CX-Programmer.

  6. 6

If an Interrupt Input Unit is connected in a slot on the CPU Rack that is not in the specified range, move the Unit to one of the specified CPU Rack slots (0 to 3 or 0 to 4 depending on CPU model).
