#02

Invalid Modbus Address

Omron · MX2 Inverter RS-485 Connection Guide

What does #02 mean?

The Destination Device (inverter) reported that the specified register address does not exist within its memory map. This means the Modbus command attempted to access a register address that is not allocated or supported by the inverter's Modbus communication data list, preventing data access.

Common Causes

  • The Register address (S+2) specified in the CMND instruction is outside the valid range for the Destination Device.
  • An incorrect or non-existent register number was targeted in the Modbus command, leading to an attempt to access undefined memory.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the Register address (S+2) in the CMND instruction operand (e.g., #1016 for Total Power ON Time Monitor).

  2. 2

Refer to '8-9 Modbus Communication Data Lists' in the Multi-function Compact Inverter MX2 Series Type V1 User’s Manual (Cat. No. I585) to confirm valid register addresses for the inverter.
