Omron · MX2 Series Type V2 Compact Inverter
This fault indicates an error in the inverter's cooling fin temperature detection system, such as a sensor disconnection or malfunction. This means the inverter cannot accurately monitor its internal temperature, posing a risk of overheating if left unaddressed, which could lead to critical component failure.
Click steps to track your progress.
Disconnect power to the inverter. Measure the resistance of the cooling fin temperature sensor directly at its terminals (e.g., T1 and T2). Compare reading to the sensor's datasheet specification (e.g., 10 kΩ NTC at 25°C).
Inspect the sensor wiring for damage, cuts, or loose connections between the sensor and the inverter's control board terminals. Ensure screw terminals are torqued correctly.
Verify the continuity of the sensor wiring from the sensor itself to the inverter's input terminals using a multimeter to confirm no breaks.
Clean any visible corrosion or dirt from the sensor input terminals on the control board using an appropriate electrical contact cleaner.
If sensor resistance is out of spec or wiring is verified good, consider replacing the main control board as the temperature input circuit may be faulty.
