OLF

MOTOR OVERLOAD

Schindler · Altivar 312 Drive

What does OLF mean?

This fault is triggered by excessive motor current, indicating the motor is drawing more current than its thermal protection limits. An incorrect [Cold stator resist.] (rSC) parameter value can also lead to this fault. Continued operation under overload conditions can damage the motor.

Common Causes

  • Excessive motor current due to a high mechanical load on the motor.
  • Incorrect value set for the [Cold stator resist.] (rSC) parameter.
  • Incorrect setting for the motor thermal protection parameter [Mot. therm. current] (ItH).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the mechanical load on the motor and reduce it if it is excessive.

  2. 2

Verify the setting of parameter [Mot. therm. current] (ItH) on page 33 and ensure it matches the motor's rated thermal current.

  3. 3

Remeasure the [Cold stator resist.] (rSC) value and update the parameter on page 42.

  4. 4

Allow the drive to cool down before attempting to restart, if the fault was due to overheating.
