Schneider Electric · ALTIVAR 28 Variable Speed Drive
This fault signifies that the motor's I²t thermal protection has tripped due to a prolonged overload condition, indicating excessive current draw over an extended period. Sustained motor overload will lead to winding insulation breakdown and permanent motor damage.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Measure actual motor operating current (drive display parameter P0-07) and compare to motor nameplate rated current.
2. Verify motor nameplate data (especially rated current and service factor) against drive parameters (P0-04, P1-03).
3. Check motor shaft for free rotation (power off) and inspect mechanical load for obstructions or excessive friction.
4. Inspect motor cooling fan for damage or obstruction and ensure motor cooling fins are clear of dust/debris.
5. Monitor motor surface temperature with an IR thermometer to detect excessive heating.
