Schneider Electric · ALTIVAR 28 Variable Speed Drive
This fault signals a short-circuit or ground fault condition detected at the output of the drive controller or within the motor windings. This is a critical fault that can cause immediate and significant damage to the drive's output stage if not addressed.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Disconnect motor cables from drive output terminals (U, V, W).
2. Perform insulation resistance test on motor windings to ground and between phases at 500VDC (typical minimum 100MΩ).
3. Measure resistance between motor output terminals U, V, W on the drive; values should be infinite if motor is disconnected.
4. Visually inspect drive output terminals and motor terminal box for signs of arcing, carbon tracking, or contamination.
5. Check continuity of motor cables from drive end to motor end for each phase (U to U, V to V, W to W) using a multimeter.
