FCF2
Output Contactor Open
Schneider Electric · Altivar Machine ATV320 Variable Speed Drive
What does FCF2 mean?
Indicates that the output contactor is detected as open when it should be closed. This prevents the drive from supplying power to the motor, resulting in a failure to start or operate. This could be due to a wiring issue, contactor fault, or an active interlock.
Common Causes
- The output contactor fails to close when commanded.
- Insufficient voltage or current to energize the contactor coil.
- Mechanical obstruction preventing the contactor from engaging.
- Faulty control signal (e.g., from P2-10) commanding the contactor to close.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify control wiring to the output contactor coil for continuity and correct voltage.
- 2
Check the output contactor for mechanical damage, an open coil circuit, or burnt contacts.
- 3
Ensure all safety interlocks or permissive conditions for contactor closure are met.
- 4
Measure the voltage supplied to the contactor coil when it should be energized.
