DC link voltage too high

SEW Eurodrive · MOVIFIT-FC Inverter

What does 07 mean?

The DC link voltage has exceeded its permissible limit. Potential causes include a ramp time set too short, incorrect wiring or internal resistance of the brake coil/braking resistor, thermal overload in the braking resistor, or an invalid mains voltage range. High DC link voltage poses a risk to the inverter's components.

Common Causes

  • DC link voltage exceeds maximum safe operating level.
  • Regenerative braking energy exceeding capacity.
  • Faulty braking resistor or chopper circuit.
  • Parameter P0256 (DC link voltage limit) set too high.
  • Incoming AC voltage too high.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Increase the ramp time setting in the inverter parameters.

  2. 2

Check the connection between the braking resistor and the brake coil and correct it.

  3. 3

Check the internal resistance of the brake coil/braking resistor, referring to the "Technical Data" section of the manual for expected values.

  4. 4

Check the mains voltage to ensure it is within the valid operating voltage range for the unit.

  5. 5

Reset the fault by switching off the DC 24 V supply voltage.
