RS-485 timeout
SEW Eurodrive · MCBSM
What does 43 mean?
Stop without inhibit due to an interruption in the connection between the inverter and the PC. This prevents remote monitoring or control via RS-485, leading to a loss of communication capability.
Common Causes
- Communication timeout detected on the RS-485 serial port.
- No response received from a connected device on the RS-485 network.
- Incorrect baud rate or communication settings (e.g., P7-01, P7-02).
- Physical wiring issue or termination problem on the RS-485 bus.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check the physical RS-485 connection cable between the inverter and the PC for integrity and proper seating.
- 2
Verify communication settings (baud rate, parity, data bits) on both the inverter and the PC are matching.
