This alarm indicates that a rotary measuring axis is not in its expected basic or intended position during measurement operations. Error codes 'A' and 'B' relate to rotary axis 1 and 2 not being in basic position on the first measurement. Error codes 'C' and 'D' indicate that rotary axis 1 or 2 are not in their intended positions during subsequent measurements. This can cause inaccurate measurements, leading to incorrect machining outcomes and potential scrap parts.
Click steps to track your progress.
Manually jog Axis 1 and Axis 2 to check for mechanical binding or obstruction, verifying free movement and end-stop functionality.
Check the battery voltage for the absolute encoder on the affected axis (e.g., X10 connector terminals) if applicable; replace if below 3.0VDC.
Verify the drive's actual position (r2521) matches the commanded position from the PLC (e.g., output from Axis 1's position loop).
Inspect the encoder feedback cable (e.g., X45 terminal block) for continuity and proper shielding connection to the control unit.
Execute the homing routine (e.g., G-Code G28 or specific PLC function block) for the affected axis and verify the homing switch status (e.g., input I1.0).
Recalibrate the absolute position offset (e.g., Parameter P2-12) if the homing process consistently fails to establish the correct zero point.
