An overcurrent condition has been detected in the braking chopper circuit. An overcurrent can severely damage the braking chopper or resistor, leading to a complete loss of braking capability, uncontrolled deceleration, or even a fire hazard if sustained.

Isolate the braking resistor and measure its resistance value with an ohmmeter. Compare it to the specified value (e.g., R_brake ohms).
Inspect the cabling between the power unit's braking terminals (e.g., X10 terminals 1/2) and the braking resistor for any signs of insulation damage or short circuits.
Verify the braking resistor's power rating and resistance against the drive's specifications and the application's braking energy requirements.
If external components are confirmed good, the internal braking chopper hardware in the power unit may be faulty, requiring power unit replacement.
