F24

Counter fault

Vacon · NXP AFE-II Drive

What does F24 mean?

The values displayed on the internal counters of the drive are incorrect or corrupted. This affects the accuracy of operational data logging.

Common Causes

  • Corruption of internal memory regions used for counter storage, possibly due to power fluctuations or software errors.
  • Internal component failure on the control board responsible for maintaining counter values.
  • Firmware bug or software anomaly affecting the accuracy or persistence of counter data.
  • Unexpected drive reset cycles or improper shutdown procedures interrupting counter updates.
  • Electromagnetic interference (EMI) disrupting data integrity during counter updates.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Perform a power cycle of the drive (turn off, wait 30 seconds, turn on) to attempt to reset the internal counters.

  2. 2

Attempt to re-initialize the drive to factory default settings (e.g., Parameter P14-22 'Initialization' to '1'). Note: This will erase all parameters and historical counter data.

  3. 3

Update the drive's firmware to the latest version. This can resolve known software bugs related to counter management.

  4. 4

If specific counters are accessible (e.g., run time counter in Menu 1-13 'Run time kWh'), attempt to reset them via menu option if available.

  5. 5

If the fault persists and counter accuracy is critical, the control board may be faulty, requiring drive service or replacement.
